Once again my image upload applications was rejected by the people at iStock Photography. However this time instead of rejecting my images out right they suggested I resubmit my images after editing them according to their suggestions.
Here is what they said about each of the three images.

We found the overall composition of this file’s lighting could be improved. Technical aspects that can affect the overall quality of lighting are: flat/dull colors, blown-out highlights, harsh reflection, shadows or lens flares. These can all limit the usefulness of a file.

This file contains artifacting when viewed at full size. This technical issue is commonly created by the quality settings in-camera, in post-processing or in RAWsettings. Artifacting may be the result of other factors such as excessive level adjustments.

PA121685.JPG: Rejected
This file contains an excess of pixel discoloration when viewed at 100%, which we felt too severe and would affect the quality of print production.
The plan is to take their suggestions and try to improve them. Additionally I will be submitting work to other stock photography website.

Clark, great new website…always nice to see a fellow photographer in KC. I wouldn’t stress too much over the stock thing. Their advice is certainly worth looking at and it is always great to improve and in turn sell photos but the business model is so rough. Collect your work and focus it. Find a niche and sell it yourself. You have quality work, there are a lot of good ways to get it in the hands of people without stock people taking a crazy % of the proceeds.
