I have been receiving a lot of comments lately on the quality of my photography, one person even mentioned I should think about adding some of them to iStockPhoto. This idea has always been in the back of my mind, however I did not feel as if I was ready to take that step with my work. Well, I recently took the plunge into the world of stock photography, pending my application is accepted by the iStockPhoto people!
So after completing the application I began to do some research on the web about stock photography and what it takes to be successful and actually make money. Therefore, this post is dedicated to giving you readers links to blog posts on the subject of stock photography I found to be particularly interesting and informative. Enjoy!
The post here contains an interview with Yuri Acurs who is perhaps the most downloaded stock photographer in the world. Here he gives advice on how to create stock worthy images. This is very good advice!
Did I mention Yuri Acurs is the worlds top selling stock photographer. Here is another post from IreStock.com where Yuri lists the 8 secrets to great stock images. It even contains example images!
Another very helpful post which includes tips from what type of equipment to use to what agencies you should approach can be found here.
I hope these links help you determine if you are ready to enter the world of stock photography.
Stay tuned for more updates as I apply to place my images on iStockPhoto!
